After a long preparation for the film adaptation of The Host by Stephenie Meyer has begun. It has been reported that Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Atonement and Hanna recently) has been cast as Melanie / Wanda, the script has been adapted by Andrew Niccol who may also conduct, Marc Butan, Seibel Jim and Bill Johnson are the executive producers of Inferno and Roger Schwartz is co- producer. The film is being financed by producers and Inferno. Meyer and Wechsler attend the Cannes festival this year to present the project to buyers with the Inferno team.
